Setup email account on Mac Mail

Mac Mail uses a wizard to setup a new Email account. To access the wizard follow these steps:

  1. Click on File
  2. Click on Add Account

Note: if there are no current accounts, then the New Account wizard will start automatically.

Add Account

Enter Name, Email address and password

Setup with POP

Incoming Mail Server

Account Type: POP

Incoming Mail Server: mail.swd.ca

User Name: use your email address

Password: use your password

Outgoing Mail Server

Outgoing Mail Server: mail.swd.ca

Check Use Authentication

User Name: use your email address

Password: use your password

Setup with IMAP

Incoming Mail Server

Account Type: IMAP

Incoming Mail Server: mail.swd.ca

User Name: use your email address

Password: use your password

Outgoing Mail Server

Outgoing Mail Server: mail.swd.ca

Check Use Authentication

User Name: use your email address

Password: use your password

Account Summary

Mac Mail simply displays summary of the account. Ensure all is correct. Use ‘Go Back’ to make changes, otherwise click ‘Create’
